Rabbit Moon – March 19, 2026
Mar 19, 2026This Second Moon of the lunar year (March 19, 2026) is represented by the Yin Metal Rabbit, who hops onto the scene on March 19th and ushers in the Spring equinox.
Gentle and clever, the Rabbit embodies receptive Yin energy. Its internal sensitivity grants it the ability to “sense” and “feel” its environment like a creature skilled at Ting Jin, a high-level fundamental skill in internal Tai Chi (also known as Listening Energy or Sensing Power) that enables one to detect vulnerabilities and neutralize attacks without the use of force.
The inherent element within the Rabbit Sign is Wood, and because this particular month is a Yin Metal Rabbit, that gives us the combination of Metal sitting on top of Wood.
Metal chops Wood, and Fire (taken from the year, as it's a “Fire Horse” year) burns it.
That’s a lot of pressure for the poor Rabbit to be under, so the general energetic current may lean towards being on the defensive. Emotional regulation and avoiding impulsive actions are emphasized to reduce the risk of high-energy volatility.
The Wood element represents growth and flexibility, so these qualities may be compromised as it feeds the Year’s Fire, which melts the month’s Metal. The energy combination at play suggests intrinsic tension with the potential for high-speed acceleration if not guarded against.
Despite these challenges, it is possible to successfully ride the wave by focusing on protecting your health, relationships, and nervous system.
If conflict is present, aim to de-escalate the situation and avoid reacting to intensity. Prioritize calming routines and take a note from the Rabbit by practicing your sensing abilities so that impulsivity doesn’t drag you into escalation.
