Patrick Gross, main instructor, tech support, and administrator of the Sanctuary of Tao, started learning Tai Chi from Stuart in 1992. He became Stuart’s primary student (Da Shi Xiong) in 2000. Patrick has been working for the last thirty years to preserve and present the teachings Stuart learned from Master Liang and other notable teachers. One of those efforts has been co-authoring with Stuart the Tai Chi Changes book.
Suzanne Nosko, Spanish translator and artist for the Sanctuary of Tao, recently completed with Stuart the Scripture on Tao and Virtue (Tao De Jing): Escritura sobre Tao y Virtud (Valley Spirit Arts, 2019), including creating the cover art. As an RN, she brings a unique medical understanding to the health aspects of Taoism. She’s been interested in Eastern spirituality for a long time, especially in the I Ching and Eastern Astrology.
Lily Romaine Shank, coordinator of programs and outreach, read one of Stuart’s books in 2007 and moved to Phoenix from Minneapolis, Minnesota to study with him. Her main focuses are cultivating health, mindfulness, and compassion through Taoism.
Miso is the master of relaxed alertness and active-non-action at the Sanctuary of Tao. She doesn't do much all day long, yet everything around her gets done. She inspires us with the way she follows her Tao of sincerity, gentleness, and silence (except when she wants a treat).
