 Discover how birth information becomes a complete I Ching Life Map. Suzanne will guide you through a prepared sample reading, showing how its chart is created, its images are interpreted, and their meanings are considered together.

What is a Life Map?

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, explores change through 64 symbolic images called hexagrams, each made of six broken or unbroken lines.

A Life Map connects a person’s birth information to these images using the method presented in Stuart Alve Olson’s Book of Sun and Moon. It begins with Ba Zi, the Four Pillars of birth—year, month, day, and hour—and develops three primary destiny images: the Blueprint, Journey, and Vehicle, called Before Heaven, After Heaven, and Life Path in the book.

What the workshop will cover

Through one complete sample reading, Suzanne will explain:

• How birth date, time, and place contribute to preparing the chart

• How the Blueprint, Journey, and Vehicle contribute to interpretation

• How associated Seen and Unseen hexagrams, ruling lines, and related teachings add depth

• How the material is brought together into one organized reading document

A complete Life Map gathers information that would otherwise require looking up many separate passages in the Book of Sun and Moon. Suzanne will show how those pieces work together, drawing on study, experience, and intuitive judgment.

About Suzanne and this teaching

Suzanne studied and taught alongside Stuart Alve Olson, founder of Sanctuary of Tao and author of the Book of Sun and Moon. She participated extensively in their Introduction to the I Ching classes. In this workshop, she will continue that teaching through its application to a complete Life Map reading.

The workshop also introduces the work behind Path of Changes, Sanctuary of Tao’s developing service for individual readings and castings. Learning to create complete readings independently requires further study and practice. Individual participant readings are separate from workshop registration.

Beginners are welcome

No previous I Ching knowledge is required. Suzanne will explain the main ideas as she works through the sample.

The workshop will be recorded and developed into a self-study program. Your $108 registration includes the live event and lifetime access to its recordings, so you can attend live or watch later.

Prefer to begin with the foundations?

Introduction to the I Ching is a separate, optional self-study course, consisting of four recorded classes taught by Stuart with Suzanne participating in demonstrations and discussion. It covers the basics of hexagrams, asking a question, casting with coins, and beginning to interpret an answer. Lifetime access to its videos and course materials is included.

You can take it before the Life Map workshop or choose it on its own. It is not required for the workshop and is purchased separately.
