Peach Wood Mala
Peach wood has potent supernatural qualities in Taoist tradition and is used for protection and to ward off harmful spirits. Taoist masters often keep swords made of peach wood for this purpose.
Peach wood also holds a prominent place in Taoist lore. The Queen Mother of the West, Xi Wangmu, one of Taoismβs highest spiritual beings, is often depicted offering her peaches of immortality. Peaches are thus symbolic of longevity, making peach wood especially appropriate for use in recitation and meditation.
